Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912) Pair of bronze candle picks, with light-brown patina, resting on three feet spat out by lions' heads. The central part is decorated in half-relief with butterflies and dragonflies, moving among aquatic plants. Two stylized elephant heads form handles. Calligraphy on reverse Yasusada (?) One wick soldered, the other removable. H. 25 cm (REF 20)
